EN 1063 / EN 1522 (commonly used for Composite Armour)

EN1063 is a common standard used in the UK and Europe for Ballistic Protection. Originally intended for transparent armour this standard has also been widely adopted for testing of composite (especially GFRP) armour.
This standard is also used in conjunction with BS EN 1522 test standard for Bullet resistant doors, shutters and blinds. The threat levels differ in their designation (‘FB’ for EN1522 and ‘BR’ for EN1063, however the threat ammunitions and velocities are the same.
